We are created to Worship the Lord. The scriptures tell us that Worship is the Priority Commandment of God in that we are to “Love the Lord our God with all our Heart, with all our Soul and with all our Mind (Matthew 22:37)” At First Groves, we encourage all people to engage in opportunities for corporate as well as individual worship. Our goal is to create a worship atmosphere that glorifies God and leads people to engage in worshipping our Lord and Savior.
In our Worship ministry, three ideals exist: PRAISE — PRAYER — PREACHING.
PRAISE We believe that God inhabits the praise of His people. There is Power in Praise and when we praise God, He is there in our midst.
PRAYER We believe that spending personal time in supplication and adoration to God in prayer is essential to maintaining a lifestyle of Worshipboth personally and corporately. Prayer is a meaningful time of each and every Worship experience.
PREACHING We have an unwavering commitment to God’s Word as the inerrant foundation and authoritative guide for our lives, our families, and the church. There is power in both the study and proclaiming of God’s Word.
The Lord seeks worshippers who will worship Him in Spirit and truth. The application of this is what we encourage in ministry … God desires us to worship Him in the Spirit and in His truth, the scriptures.
The Praise Team & Band meets weekly to prepare for weekly worship service music. We also use this time in periodic study and building of relationships. The Praise Team exists as a family and we serve as a family.
Ephesian 5 tells us to “Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.” The Praise Team continuously adapts new music into our worship service while holding to the strong foundation of music that exists in the church.
The Praise Team leads during the music portion of our weekly Worship Services and during special events throughout the year, but that is not the extent of our service. Since we exist as a family, all Praise Team members serve as prayer warriors for each other. We pray together and serve together.
