I’m New

Welcome! We know it can be a daunting task to search for a new church so this page is for you. Here you will find out who we are, what we offer, and logistical information for your first visit to First Groves. We look forward to worshipping with you soon!

WHO IS FIRST GROVES?

The About page has information about who we are, our vision, and links to our ministers and staff pages.

HOW CAN I CONNECT WITH FIRST GROVES?

We have Connect Groups that meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am for a time of small-group Bible study. We have classes for infants thru senior adults so there is a place for everyone. Our worship service begins at 10:40am in the sanctuary and we also have a service in Spanish at the same time in The Zone. During the school year we have LIFE classes on Wednesday nights at 6pm for all ages. During the summer we have nights of worship in the sanctuary on Wednesdays at 7pm.

HOW CAN I GROW WITH FIRST GROVES?

First Groves provides numerous Bible study and growth opportunities through our discipleship classes (Connect Groups and LIFE Classes), worship services, and various ministries.

HOW CAN I SERVE WITH FIRST GROVES?

First Groves has numerous ministries that provide opportunities to serve. The world won’t know Jesus if we don’t show them Jesus, which is why our church vision includes serving God in our church, families, community, and the world. The world’s needs are great so there is no shortage of ways you can join us in being the hands and feet of Jesus.

IT’S MY FIRST VISIT, WHERE DO I GO?

Showing up to a new place with multiple entrances can be confusing. First Groves is no exception so we want to make your first visit as smooth as possible.

If you are attending the 10:40 worship service in the sanctuary, there are greeters at all three entrances who can offer assistance. There are two entrances at the front of the sanctuary, one on the 39th St side and one on the Hansen St. side of the sanctuary. The Grant Ave. entrance is at the back of the sanctuary. You may also enter at the Visitor’s Center and walk down the main hallway to enter the sanctuary.

If you are attending the 9:30 Connect Groups, enter at the Visitor’s Center by the FLC (Family Life Center). Greeters will be at that entrance to guide you to a Connect Group. Come a little early and enjoy a cup of coffee and get to know more about First Groves.

If you are attending Wednesday night LIFE Classes, enter at the Visitor’s Center. We have a meal that begins at 5pm and is served until 5:45. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family.

I HAVE CHILDREN, WHERE DO THEY GO?

For children who are infants thru preschool (Little Kidz), we have a worship center where they are taught about Jesus with fun, interactive lessons. The Welcome Center for Little Kidz can be accessed from the main hallway. Little Kidz is available during Connect Groups, worship services, and LIFE Classes.

*During the 10:40am worship service, children ages 3-5 attend the first portion of our service. An announcement will be made to bring your child to the Little Kidz area. We believe that even young children are able to worship the Lord, which is why we think it is important for them to worship with us during the music portion of our worship service.

For children who are K-5th (First Kidz), we have a worship center upstairs. They have Connect Groups at 9:30am on Sundays and Wednesday night activities at 6pm. Please walk your child upstairs to meet our energetic children’s workers and fill out an information card.

For students in grades 6-12 (First Students), we have a worship center upstairs called The Zone. They have Connect Groups at 9:29am on Sundays and Thrive at 6:30pm on Wednesdays. Snacks and drinks can be bought in The Zone before the Wednesday service and students are encouraged to come early to play games and visit.
