About Us

At First Groves, we are a body of believers who believe in the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. We believe that God created us for His glory and for communion with Him. But sin entered the world and separated us from God. God continually showed His faithfulness and steadfast love to His children by providing protection and a path to salvation through atoning sacrifices.

But the world was still far from perfect, and the only remedy was for God to send His perfect Son to earth to live a perfect life, die a sinner’s death, and then conquer death by rising from the dead. We believe Jesus is God’s Son and that salvation is only found in Him by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. We follow the example of Jesus by participating in baptism once we have believed and accepted Him as our Savior. We do not believe that salvation is found in baptism, but we believe it is an important outward expression of an inward decision.
