At First Groves, we are a body of believers who believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. We believe that God created us for His glory and for communion with Him. But sin entered the world and separated us from God. God continually showed His faithfulness and steadfast love to His children by providing protection and a path to salvation through atoning sacrifices. But the world was still far from perfect, and the only remedy was for God to send His perfect Son to earth to live a perfect life, die a sinner’s death, and then conquer death by rising from the dead. We believe Jesus is God’s Son and that salvation is only found in Him by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. We follow the example of Jesus by participating in baptism once we have believed and accepted Him as our Savior. We do not believe that salvation is found in baptism, but we believe it is an important outward expression of an inward decision. We were once separated from God but we now have salvation because of the work of Christ and this is the greatest news this world has ever known. Because we believe the Gospel is the greatest news ever, we are committed to sharing this news with our community and the world. If you would like to talk with someone about Jesus and learn more about salvation, please contact the church office or visit us this Sunday morning.
We are called to connect with one another as we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. We are called to exhort one another, encourage one another, and spur one another on in love so that we can strengthen our walk with God. We seek to build these relationships so that our faith may increase as we passionately pursue to know Christ more and more.
The more we pursue Jesus, the more we grow in our faith. Where there is growth, there is life, and where there is life, there is Jesus. We are called to bear fruit which is a sign of us growing in our faith. Growth doesn’t happen by chance but rather by an intentional pursuit of knowing Christ more so that we grow to look more like Him.
Because of our growing faith in Jesus Christ, we recognize our calling to proclaim His name and serve Him in our homes, our community, and the world. We strive to share the hope only found in Jesus by being intentional in our activities and our giving.
